Our Journey

I'm a happily single mother by choice who has become addicted to blogging!  I stumbled upon my first blog when I began to research International Adoption in 2006.  I couldn't stop looking and reading about families with adopted children.  It began to temporarily satisfy my desires of motherhood by watching others experience it.  One blog lead me to another and eventually I found blogs about teaching, weight loss, cooking, photography, decorating, and everything in between.  Eventually I decided to start my own blog to chronicle my journey through the adoption process and I'm so glad I did.  I was never one to be consistent with writing in a journal and I've let my pictures pile up in storage boxes through the years.  So this blog serves as both a daily journal and a scrapbook of my day to day life.  Of course blogging wasn't even created when I was planning my life as a young teenager and adoption was not something I had really considered.  So, I think it is ironic now that the two things that have brought me incredible joy in life are blogging and adoption.  I have to keep parameters on my addiction to blogging or else I would never accomplish anything else in my day to day life.

I was born and raised in Nashville, TN and have a wonderful family here.  I am a Christian and believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I have been an Elementary School Teacher since 1997 and although I am not as passionate about it as my younger self once was, I do love my career when I don't let myself get bogged down with the current testing rhetoric public education has turned to.  I've wanted to be a wife and mother my entire life, but love and marriage never came my way.  I still desire to be married and to share the joys and sorrows of this life with a soul mate.  However, I am a complete woman even without the love of a man and do not regret these dreams that haven't come true for me.  I did however know that motherhood was a dream I simply could not push aside as I got older.  So I began the long process of International Adoption and adopted my daughter, Molly.

This is Molly.  She was born in Jiangxi Province, China on September 19, 2008.  I first saw her face on February 3, 2010 and completely melted.  I knew she was mine. A couple months later I traveled to China to get her and our "gotcha day" is May 3, 2010.  She was born with a slight deformity of her fingers and toes caused by Amniotic Band Syndrome

Molly is an amazing girl!  She is obviously beautiful and has a head full of gorgeous black hair!  She loves to play and have a good time.  She is very smart and mimics most everything I do.  She loves music, milk, and 'Mama Maze' (my mom).  I love being with her.  She has truly brought joy and love into my life like I've never known.

Finally, these are my favorite people on the planet!!  This is my whole family and we love to be together.  Our conversations and time spent together has changed in recent years as we have 3 children about a year apart each in age, but it's still fun.  Memories in the making...
