potty training

molly had never really been fond of diapers.  she wasn't used to wearing them in china and she pulls and tugs at them sometimes making it appear to be uncomfortable.  over the past couple of weeks she has tried to get on the potty at home, at daycare, and at my grandmothers house...but has still never actually peed in the potty. 

i thought these were pretty good signs that she may be ready to potty train...although she is still under 2 years old (will be 2 in September) and i never wanted to be the mom who forced something on her child before she was ready.  but, mom and i went to walmart with molly on monday and bought her a potty chair to see how it went.  as soon as we got home she peed in the potty chair and did once again the next morning.  unfortunately after our first two successes it did not continue...:(  sadness.  she will go in and sit on the potty but not actually do anything.  she squirms and will not sit still.  she has peed on the bathroom floor twice and on the bathroom stool once so i'm not quite sure what she is thinking.  i guess she is just playing for now. 

when she does sit on the potty she has to have her reading material!

i thought since she was squatty potty trained in china she may be more aware of her urge to pee or poop and i think she is, but that hasn't translated to the potty chair yet.  i have not gone into full force training, especially this week b/c of her upcoming surgery.  but perhaps closer to her birthday we will try again.
